Scarborough Beach Pool is the City of Stirling’s centrepiece of the ongoing Scarborough Revitalisation effort Selectro was contracted to supply, Install and commission all electrical aspects for the plant room for the pools in the facility.

The control system consisted of 2 separate pool filtration systems with heating and chemical dosing. The control system utilised was Siemens, engineered with the TIA Portal, it consisted of the following elements:

• S7-1200 PLC controller
• 12” Siemens Comfort Panel HMI for main filtration control
• 120 x Digital I/O points
• 20 x Analogue I/O points
• Siemens V20 VSD’s controlled thru USS communication protocol
• Flow meters for flow control and waste water monitoring
• Various temperature, level, PH and chlorine sensors for process control
• Power metering of each separate pool system back to the building management system

Selectro designed the control system with the pool operators in mind, the HMI layout gives a full overview of each separate pool system comprising of all control elements, alarms and process variables.
